What is Commuter?
The residential area, which is generally built in places far from the center of the cities or close to the border of the city, is called a suburb. The origin of this concept is based on French culture.
The spread of cities over a wide geography played a role in the establishment of the suburbs. In the past, the meaning of this word has expanded, while it used to describe workers’ social housing located close to the centers of large and crowded cities.
Transportation from the suburbs to the city center is mostly provided for business, education and daily needs; This transportation is also carried out by public transportation vehicles. Since the distance in this public transportation system is far, most of the time a train line was established to provide access to the city center. This led to the emergence of the concept of suburban train. Today, subway systems have started to replace these lines for transportation in the suburbs.
