European (or Balkan) Turkey is relatively small compared to the Asian part, the Anatolian Plateau, which is a large peninsula.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Religions in Turkey is<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Islam is the largest religion of Turkey, with 99.8 % of the population being registered as Muslim (mostly Sunni), other 0.2% (mostly Christians and Jews).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Neighboring Countries: Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Greece, Georgia, Iraq, Armenia, Iran, Syria.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">With such a large landmass, Turkey enjoys a variety of climates, earning the country the nickname \u2018the land of four seasons\u2019.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In Istanbul and around the sea of Marmara the climate is moderate. The average temperature in winter is 4\u00b0C and in summer &#8211; 27\u00b0C (39 and 80 degrees Fahrenheit). In Western Turkey there is a mild Mediterranean climate with average temperatures of 9\u00b0C in winter and 29\u00b0C in summer.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tourism in Turkey has so much to offer her visitors, therefore this country has recently become one of the world&#8217;s most popular tourism destinations.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Turkey supports a wide range of manufacturing activities. Manufacturing plants are widely distributed, with clusters of factories in all sizable towns, although a high proportion of total output comes from four highly industrialized zones: Istanbul and the area around the Sea of Marmara, the Aegean coast around \u0130zmir, the Adana basin, and the region around Ankara. The leading manufactures are chemicals; food, beverages, and tobacco; and textiles, clothing, and footwear.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Turkey has a great variety of natural resources, though few occur on a large scale. Apart from<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Iran, Turkey is the only Middle Eastern country with significant coal deposits, mainly in the<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Zonguldak field. Output of lignite is substantial.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">About one-third of Turkey\u2019s land area is utilized for<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">agriculture, much of it extensively.
